I don't know about you, but I often spend
The challenge for today's Third Thursday Threads at Bri's blog, Work Clothes, I Suppose is to bring a Pinterest outfit to life.
When I first ventured into the world of Pinterest, I usually pinned outfits that I loved but couldn't actually create using what I already owned. I've gotten a little bit smarter over the years and now I try to keep my eyes peeled for looks that I can actually create. When I came across this adorable look (orginally from Stilettos and Sequins), I knew I had to pin it because I owned all of the necessary pieces!

I think that this challenge has encouraged me to take a look at my Pinterest boards a little bit more frequently for some great fashion inspiration! What about you? Do you act on your pins?

I can't get over how much I LOVE your hair styled this way. Sometimes, I wonder if I just internalize what I pin? I really should peruse my billion pins more often.
ReplyDeleteWell thank you! I'll let you in on a little secret: this is my "lazy day" hair do. Haha.
DeleteI acted on one of my pins. Love this chambray dress, and your belt. Rachel of http://Garaytreasures.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteThank you! This chambray dress has turned into one of my favorite pieces!
DeleteYou look lovely! I quite prefer your interpretation of the look. :)
ReplyDeleteI copy outfits like nobody's business! Sometimes unintentionally (like when I copied your striped shirt / sweatshirt dress look), but usually I do it on purpose. One of my recent Pinspired outfits was a copy of a Work Clothes, I Suppose look! It's the Tuesday look in this post:

Well thank you! I really need to start making more use of my Pinterest boards. Really, why reinvent the wheel, right??
DeleteI really love your look! I love the pop of the belt against the chambray dress! I also love your hair :) I've gotten better lately actually using things I've pinned, but for a long while, I'd just pin things, forget about them, then end up coming back to them months later!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was sort of a "duh" moment when it occurred to me to put my leopard belt with my chambray dress...but that's what Pinterest is for, right?
DeleteI love the chambray shirt dress! I think I go through phases where I wear a ton of pinspired looks, but sometimes I just do my own thing.
ReplyDeleteCreativity is best but it's nice to have Pinterest to fall back on :)
DeleteThis is a cute look! The leopard belt really looks fantastic with your chambray dress. I used to be the same way with Pinterest, pinning outfits just because they were cute. I definitely use it more now for styling what I already have.
ReplyDeleteAt least we are getting wiser in our use of Pinterest, huh? :)
DeleteI am so flattered you recreated my look, Whitney! I loveeee how you did it. You look beautiful! xo

Thanks so much for stopping by! And for having the sense to put together a chambray dress and a leopard-print belt :)

Thank you! And thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI love your take on the Pinspired Look. I want a Chambray Dress badly. I own one already, but I want a lighter shade like yours. The Tortoise Belt makes this much better.
ReplyDeleteHave a Great Weekend!!
Thank you! I actually wanted a chambray dress for a really long time but just couldn't find the right one. I'm glad I held out because I love this one from Old Navy!
DeleteGreat look! I pin a bunch of things but rarely use it for inspiration. Today was one of the few outfits I actually searched in Pinterest that I recreated.

Same! Maybe this while inspire both of us to use Pinterest a little bit more when creating outfits!
DeleteOoh, I love chambray dresses! I'm still hunting for the perfect one... Maybe I will check out the ones from Old Navy that you suggest!
ReplyDeleteI took me almost a year to find the perfect one! I don't see this one from Old Navy anymore (the ones I suggested are from Gap and Banana Republic...so I'm assuming they are similar). I feel like Old Navy has them in and out, though, so keep your eyes peeled!
DeleteI would love to have more shirtdresses in my closet. They are so versatile, and so so comfortable!
ReplyDeleteMe too! This is actually my only one. For some reason I shy away from them at stores...but given how much I love this one, I should probably look into more!
DeleteI really really really want a chambray shirtdress now!! So amazingly comfortable and classic-looking!
ReplyDeleteI would highly recommend one! I'm still figuring-out just how versatile it can be! Thanks for the fun link-up!
DeleteOoooh, so cute, Whitney! I love my chambray dresses - they are so versatile and comfortable :) I looove getting inspiration from Pinterest. I actually made myself a spreadsheet with pin URLs and how I would recreate them with things I already have. NERD ALERT! ;)
ReplyDeleteIs it equally as nerdy that I would like to see how you organized your spreadsheet? Haha.
