Stitch Fix Review #3

Bonjour!  I am back with another Stitch Fix review today!  If you are not familiar with Stitch Fix, it is a really fun personal styling service who delivers fashionable items right to your doorstep.  Keep what you want and mail the rest back...it is that simple!  For my full Stitch Fix explanation, visit this post.  I've also reviewed another one of my orders here.

If you are interested in trying Stitch Fix for yourself, I would be so super-duper thankful if you would follow this link so that I may receive credit towards my next fix!

And on to the review!  Here are the items that I received that I chose not to keep:

So I really liked the idea of this stretchy, colorful skirt but I just didn't love it on me.

The sweater was really soft and comfy but it was a little bit "blah" looking...especially for the price!

I was really hopeful about the mint-colored jeans but they were unfortunately too small.  Shockingly, this is the first pair of pants Stitch Fix has sent me that haven't fit (I say "shocking" because typically I have a really hard time finding pants that fit).

I really really liked this denim jacket.  I get a lot of wear out of the one that I currently own that is a hand-me-down from my sister.  I've been thinking of investing in another one in a darker wash...cue this jacket, right?!  Wrong!  Unfortunately this jacket cost $98!  And this teacher cannot afford $100 jackets.  (In other news, I just ordered a dark-wash denim jacket from Old Navy for a much easier to stomach price.  Stay tuned to see how it works-out)!

But finally, (drum roll please) I decided to keep this beautiful blouse!

I love the feminine, floral pattern and the fun details like the key-hole cutouts and the slit in the back.  I know this will be a great top heading into the summer because it is so light and flowy.  I really like it paired with my dark skinnies but I think it will look cute with my navy shorts as well!

I threw in a touch of subtle pattern mixing by adding some striped heels.  Although I do have to admit to not wearing these shoes very frequently...only to events that don't involve much walking or any consumption of wine.

Anyhoo, long story short, I really like my beautiful, new blouse.  However, it was also on the pricey side ($68).  Since I had already spent $20 to receive my Stitch Fix box and that amount was credited towards my purchase, I decided to go for it.  Unfortunately, in the review I submitted to the company, I told them that if the price points don't decrease, I will no longer be able to receive Stitch Fix boxes.  I will let you know if the company complies and if I decide to continue with the service in my next Stitch Fix review!

What I'm Wearing:
Blouse: Stitch Fix (exact)
Jeans: LOFT (exact)
Heels: Gift (similar, similar)

  1. The blouse is beautiful! I think you could also tuck it into a skirt to create a completely different look. It's too bad about the price points. I can almost see $100 for really well made, great fitting jeans, but not for a denim jacket. Jackets just don't take the beating that jeans do, even if you wear them just as often. Does that make sense?

    1. That makes a lot of sense! Although I would be hard pressed to spend $100 on any clothing item except perhaps a formal dress or something. And thanks for the blouse inspiration...I know just the skirt that I'm going to try this look with later :)

    2. Haha, that's why I said ALMOST. :)

  2. Even though I love everything that people keep from their "fixes," part of the reason I haven't signed up for Stitch Fix is because of the prices. That seems to be every single person's largest complaint. I'm curious to know how they respond to your feedback. Molly of Still Being Molly said she told them the same thing, and they ended up sending things at a bit better of a price point. Maybe it all depends on your stylist, too? And can we talk about these heels for a moment. HOLY HOTNESS! I would break my face (and we know that doesn't need to happen with the current state of my face), but they are too cute. And the detailing of that shirt is so unique. Kind of makes the price easier to swallow. That and it would be cute with so many things. I'm picturing it with pink bottoms. I don't know why.

    1. Yeah, my sister has been using Stitch Fix and is frustrated with the price as well. I'm really hoping they listen to my complaint this time because it is such a fun service! And also, the reason I don't frequently wear these heels is because I might break MY face. Those of us who have had nose jobs (haha) need to be careful about that.

    1. Oh wow! You used to live right by me! I've never actually been to a blogger/style event around here. I would love to attend one, though!

  4. OMG that Top is DIVINE!! Beautiful florals in a beautiful blue color. The back, style and tunic length of the top is perfect too. I also really love those wooden heels. They are high but you look amazing so that's what matters. I am glad you kept that top. I love Blue so much, you have no idea lol.

    1. Why thank you! I suppose I look amazing in the heels until I fall on my behind (true story, that did happen in these heels). Haha.

  5. This blouse is so pretty! The cutouts are a nice detail. I actually tried on a blouse with a slit like this at the bottom but it fit me a little tighter and it felt like the shirt had tuxedo tails haha. But the fit of yours is perfect! Stitch fix has sounded very cool, I've been seeing a lot of bloggers try it, but you're right, the prices are way too high for my budget!

    1. Thanks, Inge! I do think I made a mistake with Stitch Fix when I chose my price point during my initial survey. I picked mine because I would be willing to pay this price for something spectacular...but not for everything. When you start Stitch Fix, you get to choose a price range. I'm curious about those who chose lower and if the stylists actually follow through.

  6. My sister and I were just discussing Stitch fix the other day and were debating on whether to try it. I'll admit, the only thing holding me back is the cost. I would also be interested to see what a lower price point would get you... At least you got a lovely new blouse out of the deal! I just love the little details on it!

    1. I'm gathering from all of the comments that the general consensus is that Stitch Fix is a bit too pricey. I'm really hoping they pull through for me, though, because I really love the service. I've been looking into other similar companies but I don't like the schtick from them as well as I like SF.

  9. Part of my part of me wants to try stitch fix to see what it's all about and part of me is worried I'll get pieces that don't work :( I really like the top you kept though.

    1. So far I've always found at least one thing that I want to keep! Some things don't work at all but at least they have five shots to get it right!

  10. Love the pretty details of this blouse! I recently bought a $50 blouse & I've never spent that much on one before... but I couldn't lose it. ;) I wish stitch fix was offered to Canadians... Pinning this look, hun! Thanks for linking up for Passion For Fashion!

  14. I just want to say how much I appreciate your honesty about Stitch Fix. I have seen several reviews about them from other bloggers but you are the only one to reveal the prices which I think is super important before considering purchasing something. I love the items they picked out for you, especially the top you picked and the mint jeans. It's a great concept but it's too much of a gamble to pay that much I think.

    1. Thank you so much! I would hate to be anything but authentic here in my little corner of the internet...and I'm so glad that comes through. Especially since I'm a teacher, I know how important it is to be on a budget and I don't want to create the illusion that I can spend a lot on clothes.
