Favorite Spring Dresses

If you've spent any amount of time around these parts, you know that I'm a total dress girl!  I find them more comfortable than jeans and have a way easier time finding dresses that fit than pants.  So when Ada invited me to participate in a birthday celebration on her blog featuring dresses, I knew I was in!

Ada asked that I post about a dress that was already hanging in my closet but I've decided to go all-out dresses today!  I'll be showing you a few old favorites as well as a lovely new dress.

The dress featured on Ada's blog today is the green one in the top right photo.  I wore this ensemble last year to my cousin's rehearsal dinner but re-wore almost the exact outfit this past weekend to a wedding reception.  Replace the heels with a pair of coral flats and you have my updated look!

And since we're celebrating dresses today, here are three other favorites I've featured in previous May posts!  (Pink Maxi Dress, Periwinkle Floral Dress, Pink Floral Dress)

This last little number is a new dress that I've received from Shein!  When I chose it to review, I thought it was a jersey dress but was surprised to find that it's a nice, thick material!  I love the color and the flowers but wish I would have sized-up.  With Shein I usually choose my normal size medium but with this particular dress, I should have gone with a large.

Make sure to stop by Ada's blog today to wish her a happy birthday and to see how a few other lovely ladies have styled dresses!

Jacket Weather?

Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I was a little bit cold wearing this outfit on a snowy day in Michigan.  You would think that being a born-and-bred northerner would mean that I always make practical decisions regarding the weather, but no.  I'm actually the worst!

Nonetheless, I'm loving my new jacket from Shein!  When they presented me with the opportunity to choose and review another product, I immediately fell in love with this classic utility style jacket with a plaid twist (the inside lining and the hood are plaid)!  I get so much use out of my coral utility jacket during the spring and I think this one will be perfect for the fall.

As usual with Shein, I'm impressed with the quality of this garment.  While it's definitely not a winter coat, it is lined and the material feels really soft to the touch.  I'm wearing my typical size medium and it fits well with plenty of room to button-up!

I can't wait for the weather to warm-up a bit so I can add this jacket to my rotation!

Comfy and Festive

Oh my goodness, friends!  I actually made it to Winter Break!  About a week ago I was on the verge of a meltdown.  You know those moments in life when there is so much going on and none of it seems to be going well?!  All you want to do is curl up under a blanket for a few days but you just have to keep going?!  Well, I've finally made it to my day where I get to stay curled up under that blanket and I couldn't be more thankful.

I know that I'm a lucky one with two glorious weeks off of work while many of you are still putting in the hours this week.  So let's talk about a few ways that you can be festive yet comfy while surviving these last few days of work!

My first recommendation for being comfortable but put-together is a cute dress that feels like a nightgown!  Cue this little number, my most recent gift from Shein!  This dress is made in a beautiful grey, jersey material and couldn't be more comfortable.  Plus, it has adorable button detailing at the neck.  Have I ever mentioned that I'm a sucker for buttons?  I'm wearing my typical size medium and it fits perfectly!  And you aren't even going to believe the price.  I'm serious, go check it out!

A neutral dress is the perfect base for my second tip for looking festive while feeling comfy: colored tights!  These burgundy, fleece-lined tights were so cozy and warm but definitely upped the interest for this outfit.  Have you ever tried fleece-lined tights?

And because everyone loves a good blooper photo, here is me doing some sort of fabulous hair flip!

Comfy and Cute for Thanksgiving

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just a few days away?!  What are your plans for the holiday?  Are you spending it with family or perhaps a group of friends?  Are your gatherings a bit more formal or super casual?  And do you know what you're wearing yet??

My Thanksgiving celebration will be a bit different than usual this year.  My sister, niece and brother-in-law will be with his side of the family so it will just be my mom, dad and me indulging in the feast!  I'm thinking that since we are having a mini-Thanksgiving, we will be dressing very casually (I'm hoping for leggings and a tunic), but normally we get a little bit dressed-up for the occasion!

If your family dines more formally for Thanksgiving, this is the perfect dress!  The fit is what does it for me!  It skims the body so you don't look like you're wearing a sack but it's loose and soft enough to accommodate the inevitable stuffed belly.  Not to mention the pretty, burgundy color is perfect for the holiday season!  But do you know what I love the best?  The scallop detailing on the sleeves and hem.  It takes a basic, comfy dress up a notch!  I'm wearing my typical size medium and it fits perfectly!  You can purchase your very own holiday dress from Shein for an amazing price.  Seriously, you will have plenty moolah left over for Christmas shopping!  Or maybe you can find gifts for your favorite gals at Shein!

I have received a product from Shein to review in return for this post.  Thank you for supporting the brands who support me!

Sweater Weather

At the risk of sounding basic, I adore fall!  I love cider mill visits, tights under dresses, football season, and pumpkin spice everything.  But possibly most of all, I love sweater weather!  What could be better than wrapping yourself in a chunky knit to stay warm and cozy all day?

When Shein contacted me about reviewing one of their pieces, I was excited to browse their many options!  If you aren't familiar with Shein, they sell all of the season's latest trends for prices that can't be beat (seriously, you won't believe the bargains!).

Anyways, as I'm looking through their many fun and fashionable styles, I came across this large-knit cardigan and was sold!  The brownish-mustard hue makes it fun but neutral enough to easily mix into my wardrobe.  And the texture!  The knit is super soft and really thick!  The material makes the sweater feel like it costs much more than it actually does.  In fact, I wore this outfit for a sushi date with a few girlfriends and received so many compliments!  They couldn't believe what a deal it is!

My new cardigan came just in time for week one of the October Style Series with The Blended Blog! This week, a few of our featured contributors are showcasing their Sweater looks.  Make sure to stop by TBB for some knitspiration (see what I did there?).  Please link-up your own sweater looks below and make sure to come back next week when the featured look is Boots!
